The_Fence_and_the_Fence

Situated on the Thames Path in front of the MI6 building the Fence and Fence gallery premiered the first exhibition of ‘Pseudo Spaces.’ The work interrogates the pseudo public space in response to the increased privatisation of land throughout London. Within it, the render ghost is brought to life alongside its 2D representation. Parallel to one another they depict the idealistic portrayal of civic life governed by private owners, in contrast to the facade of ‘public freedom of use.’ In doing so it questions what public ownership looks like and plays with the power this possesses to intervene and disrupt a space.
